They say gambling is not healthy, but we cannot think of any other medium that has pushed fruit to the forefront of their minds in the same way that video slots have. Wazdan is clearly on the same page as us, as their release, Magic Fruits, shows off various all-natural delicacies on the small 3x3 playing field with 5 fixed paylines. We cannot say the theme is particularly defined, as the background is a simple, green colour with occasional yellow stars flying past the reels.
But while the visuals are nothing impressive, the same cannot be said for the music. The beat is soothing but still fast-paced, though annoyingly blocked out by the sounds of a faux physical machine every time you press the spin button. Fortunately, the sound options allows sound and music to be turned off separately, so we can rid ourselves of the annoying clicking while preserving the upbeat track.

Theme and Features
Magic Fruits feels really weird to play, as it looks like someone mashed together symbols from 2012 with a background more fitting for a modern title. We would not really call the green swirls shifting back and forth, nor the yellow stars particularly gorgeous, but they do look crisp. But the reels and symbols themselves look horribly outdated. We imagine the developers wanted to try for a physical machine appearance, but it just feels lost in translation, and it ended up looking bad worse for the wear. Symbols include pears, plums, golden bells, oranges, lucky sevens, cherries, grapes, water melons and a joker symbol. As such, gamblers will see nine regular icons and no special ones – no Wilds, Scatters, or Bonus symbols on any kind. Coin value ranges from $0.01 up to $9.00 per spin.
As you might have guessed, with no special symbols, there are also no bonuses to talk about either. This only further proves our sneaking suspicion that Wazdan wanted to emulate old-school physical machines that had no or only one special feature in them. We cannot say we were big fans of that back then, and we certainly do not like it now, not when there are much more interesting games to play, which offer us two, three, or even more bonuses!
Pros and Cons
While the upbeat music and the background image look nice, that does not remove the problems caused by the lack of special features, or the awful symbols. The jackpot is also nothing special, with the highest paying icon only rewarding 40x when you complete a win with it.
Conclusion
We really cannot recommend this Wazdan release to players. The intent is clearly to get players to score wins and get them to gamble to improve them, but it does not make for an interesting gameplay loop. With plenty of other, more interesting games, we recommend skipping this one.
