Casinos with license in Denmark

Regulation in Denmark is under control of the Danish Gambling Authority. They are responsible for the regulation and to protect players against unfair and illegal gambling. The key duties are issuing licenses to online casinos, manage and control operators and monitoring the gambling industry. It was formed in 2000 and in 2026 the present Act on Gambling became in place.

Licenses

For Bingo, Scratch cards and drawing lots its not possible to get a license. Only Danske Spil and Det Danske Klasselotteri are the only ones who have a license to offer these games. For the other categories there are two different licenses:

- Betting license
- Online Casino license

A license has a duration of 5 years. The corporation Tax rate is 28% for all operators and there is a 20% tax rate on gross gaming revenue.

Player requirements

One of the strict requirements for players when playing in an online casino with Danish License is the registration of a digital signature, the Danish NemID. Players need to fill in a form which is provided by the casino before they can register in the casino.

When a player experienced a problem with a Danish licensed casino he needs to file a complaint at the casino and can not go to the Danish Gambling Authority. If the player didn't receive any feedback after 2 weeks they can ask the operator to urge them to process the complaint and after contact the DGA.

The responsible gaming system of the DGA is called ROFUS. Players can report themself at the ROFUS to self-exclude himself. Any licensed gaming site need to have acces to ROFUS site from the operator's site. Once you excluded from 1 operator it means that you are excluded from all operator sites.
